The EXCITED 4 Careers in Agriculture program has been developed by CQUniversity through a National Careers Institute Partnership grant to support K-10 students’ exploration of agricultural careers. Students using the EXCITED 4 Careers in Agriculture program learning modules will use leading career development theory, Holland’s RIASEC model, to explore their own career interests and how these may align to a variety of agricultural careers. Students engage in hands-on classroom activities that focus on realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional tasks that form part of a diverse range of rewarding jobs that exist on-farm and throughout the supply chain. More broadly the RIASEC model supports the integration of career development into the classroom curriculum in a way that brings subjects and skill development to life using the world of agricultural work.
